We're Actually Pretty Gay Year-Round
Every June, the internet fills up with rainbow logos, Pride Month sales, and limited-edition Pride apparel.
Some of it is great.
Some of it feels a little rushed.
At Hustle City Clothing, we've never really treated LGBTQ clothing as something that only exists for one month out of the year. Long before this year's Pride collection, we already had a permanent Queer collection filled with graphic apparel, accessories, and products designed specifically for people who wanted something a little more honest, a little more fun, and a lot less corporate.
That's why our Pride Month collection is intentionally small.
Instead of releasing dozens of rainbow products, we focused on a handful of Pride accessories and LGBTQ apparel pieces that actually felt like us.
Pride Apparel That Doesn't Disappear After June
One thing we've always found strange about Pride fashion is how quickly it disappears.
June arrives.
Everything becomes rainbow-colored.
July arrives.
Half of it vanishes.
We wanted to create Pride apparel that still feels relevant after Pride Month is over.
The result is a small collection built around pieces we'd happily wear year-round.
The Queen Dad Hat
The Queen Dad Hat started with a simple challenge.
Hat graphics don't have much space to work with. The design has to be readable from across a room, recognizable in a thumbnail, and still look good when someone is wearing it.
After exploring different concepts, we landed on a single word:
Queen.
It's a word with a long history in LGBTQ culture, queer culture, drag culture, and everyday gay life. More importantly, it's instantly recognizable.
The rainbow Old English lettering gives the hat a Pride Month feel while keeping the design clean enough to wear long after June ends.
The Gay Shit Crossbody Bag
Sometimes a product starts with a deep design philosophy.
Sometimes it's just funny.
The Gay Shit Crossbody Bag falls firmly into the second category.
It's practical, useful, and unapologetically queer. Whether you're carrying your phone, wallet, keys, sunglasses, or whatever else ends up following you around all day, the bag does exactly what it's supposed to do.
And yes, the name still makes us laugh.
The Hustle Pride Graphic T-Shirt
The final piece in the collection is our Hustle Pride Graphic T-Shirt.
The design takes our logo and gives it a Pride-inspired update while keeping the overall look simple and wearable. It's a straightforward addition to the collection and a good example of what we like most about Pride clothing: visibility without sacrificing style.
More Than a Pride Collection
The biggest reason our Pride collection is small is because it isn't the only queer section of our website.
Our Queer collection remains available year-round and includes products that go far beyond traditional Pride apparel.
Pride Month matters.
Visibility matters.
Community matters.
But queer fashion doesn't stop being relevant on July 1st.
Neither do we.
If you're looking for LGBTQ clothing, Pride accessories, queer apparel, or simply something that feels a little more authentic than another temporary rainbow logo, you're already in the right place.
We're actually pretty gay year-round.
