Production Time: When We Actually Make the Thing
Most Hustle City Clothing products aren’t sitting in a warehouse waiting for someone to slap a label on them. We make, print, press, sew, and customize a lot of this stuff ourselves, so every product is marked with a Production Time badge that tells you how long it should take before your order leaves our hands.
One important distinction: production time is not delivery time. The times below tell you when we expect your order to ship from Hustle City Clothing. Once the carrier has it, transit time depends on the shipping method, destination, weather, carrier delays, acts of God, and whatever fresh nonsense the postal system has decided to participate in.
READY-TO-SHIP
Ships same or next business day
It already exists. We made it. It is physically here. No sewing machine needs to be threatened.
Orders placed early enough on a business day may ship that same day. Otherwise, expect them to go out by the next business day.
PRINT-TO-SHIP
Ships within 1 business day
The blank or base product is already here and ready to go, but we still need to print, press, or otherwise apply the design before it can leave.
These products normally ship by the next business day after your order is placed. This is where most of our made-to-order printed apparel lives: you order it, we make yours, and nobody has to warehouse 47 shirts in a size nobody wanted.
SEW-TO-SHIP
Ships within 3 business days
We actually have to make this one.
Sew-to-Ship products require cutting, sewing, construction, finishing, or some combination of the above. They normally ship within 3 business days, assuming the materials required for your order are in their normal available stock.
These take a little longer because apparently underwear refuses to assemble itself.
CUSTOM
Production time quoted per order
Custom means exactly that: we’re making something specifically for you, and the amount of work can vary dramatically from one project to another.
Some custom orders are relatively quick. Others involve sourcing materials, developing patterns, artwork, fittings, revisions, or construction that takes considerably longer. Because of that, Custom products do not have a universal shipping deadline. We’ll provide or discuss an estimated production time based on the actual project.
Complex custom work can occasionally take several weeks or longer, so if you need something for a specific date, tell us before assuming the universe has agreed to your schedule.
A Few Tiny but Important Details
Production estimates are measured in business days and begin once we have everything required to produce the order. If we’re waiting on custom information, measurements, artwork approval, or another decision from you, the production clock is effectively standing there tapping its foot.
Production time also does not include carrier transit. A product marked SEW-TO-SHIP — ships within 3 business days means we expect to hand it to the carrier within that production window. It does not mean the package will necessarily be sitting on your porch three days after checkout.
The badge on each product page is the quickest way to know what kind of production timeline you’re buying into. READY-TO-SHIP, PRINT-TO-SHIP, SEW-TO-SHIP, or CUSTOM: four little badges, considerably fewer mysterious “where the hell is my order?” moments.
